Wake up to beautiful brows
Microblading for Maximum Impact
Your eyebrows are one of your most prominent facial features. But, if you’re not satisfied with your eyebrows, don’t despair. There are so many ways to enhance them using popular beauty products that include brow gels, pencils, and powders. Salon treatments such as threading, waxing and tweezing/plucking are also temporary solutions to this all-too-common beauty dilemma. Great news! Now there’s a very natural option that delivers semi-permanent results—microblading.
What is microblading? Microblading is a form of semi-permanent eyebrow makeup that originated in Asia over 20 years ago. Because of the incredibly natural-looking results that a qualified microblading professional can achieve in just a few sessions, this innovative procedure has spread around the globe.
According to experienced brow artists, microblading is perfect for clients who want to fully reconstruct, define, cover gaps, fill-in over plucked brow, or just add a slight arch—results are a natural, undetectable fringe.
So, how does it work? A topical numbing cream is applied to the eyebrow area to minimize discomfort, followed by a liquid anesthetic. A special microblading pen is then used to draw a customized eyebrow shape by applying individual strokes one at time, not unlike tattooing. As such, clients may experience a minimal amount of discomfort or mild pain. Keep in mind that this is an extremely meticulous process that usually takes about two hours and can cost anywhere between $500 and $800—and well worth the investment.
Immediately following the procedure, your eyebrows will appear darker, but will fade 50% during the healing process over the following 2 weeks. Your next appointment will be approximately six weeks later to touch up your eyebrows and ensure that the micro-pigments are healing properly. The best part about microblading is that there is no down time. No special care is required, except for a brief touch-up once a year to keep the color crisp.
Are there any safety concerns? Safety precautions for microblading are similar to those of any other tattooing technique. Misapplication of the pigment, pigment migration, and color change are among the most common complaints. As with most beauty procedures, check that your microblading professional holds appropriate licenses and has been trained to perform this procedure.
Thanks to celebrities like Cara Delevingne and Lena Dunham, thick, full eyebrows are in style. Microblading will help you achieve fuller, more symmetrical eyebrows that don’t need any upkeep in the morning. Your fabulous eyebrows will be “selfie-ready” the minute you wake up!
