Micro-needling Collagen Induction Therapy

Micro-needling Collagen Induction Therapy

Suffering from scars, wrinkles, and dark spots?  Want them gone for good? Micro-needling or known as Collagen Induction therapy may be just what you are looking for!  Micro-needling goes by many different names: Collagen Induction, skin needling, derma rolling and many others.  Although it has many different names, it may just be the next big thing in skin care!

What is micro-needling?

Micro-needling is a procedure involving tiny needles that puncture the skin in order to promote the healing process to start.  This healing process will increase both skin regeneration and collagen production by up to 400%!  After the micro needling is done, the product you place on your skin afterwards will have a greater absorption rate than when applied without the micro needling.  Micro needling has been clinically proven to help reduce the appearance of scars and wrinkles while also erasing dark spots on the skin.

The procedure can take anywhere from ten minutes all the way up to about an hour depending on the area that is being treated.  Usually there is a topical anesthetic placed on the area to be treated and no pain is felt after the needling is completed.  Although some redness and minimum swelling can occur, it will usually fade within a few days.

Does it work?

With every skin care treatment, you have to ask yourself “Does this really work? Or am I just wasting my time and money?”  No need to worry because the results speak for themselves. Micro-needling has been clinically proven to work to treat various types of skin flaws including acne, scars, burns, wrinkles, sun damage, dark spots, stretch marks, cellulite, and much more.  It is also safe for dark skin tones.

Micro-needling will usually make the skin smoother and will improve the appearance of wrinkles around the eyes, mouth and cheeks. Collagen Induction Therapy will usually cause significant improvement in stretch marks, acne scars, skin texture, and dark spots.

So how fast will you start seeing results?  Collagen induction therapy takes at least 90 days to start showing the benefits and improvements.  Although the effects of this treatment may not be seen for at least three months after the procedure, the effects last for years to come.

After Treatment Care

After the micro needling treatment, the skin of the area that underwent treatment will be red and sensitive to the touch.  The redness will generally last 48 hours. Normal cleanser, moisturizing creams, and sunscreen can be used immediately after the procedure.

There are a couple of things that will help with the recover process.  One thing you can do is to choose a good Vitamin A and C serum to help calm the skin.  A high concentration Vitamin A and C products or other topical products, should be applied soon after the procedure when the skin’s absorption rate is greatest.
